Successful Kansas Wing Search and Rescue Exercise

Kansas Wing held its first-quarter Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX) on March 29, 2026, in Topeka, bringing together 50 CAP members: 31 senior members and 19 cadets, representing nine of the Wing's 11 squadrons.

Throughout the day, Kansas Wing members executed eight ground sorties and four air sorties, supported by five aircrafts and seven CAP vehicles. This exercise was able to provide valuable training across multiple emergency services operations, including aircrew, ground team, and mission base operations.

Many cadets received hands-on training and worked towards receiving their Ground Team Member Level 3 (GTM3) rating, with numerous tasks signed off during the event.

A huge thank you to all who participated and helped to make this exercise a success.
